Autographed, 8 x 10, color photograph of Tommy James singing and playing his electric guitar in concert at "The Bottom Line" night club in New York City. Boldly signed in black sharpie pen at the upper right corner. Choice condition. I obtained this directly from my friend, Tommy James's wife and manager Carol Ross, who is a very important person in the music world herself. She was instrumental in finding and getting the iconic rock group, "Kiss," discovered and signed to a record contract. She has also worked with other stars such as Paul McCartney, and in the beginning of her career she had a role on the extremely popular western TV series, "Gunsmoke." Tommy James is a very popular 1960's musician and his autograph is always desirable! He is still going strong today putting on excellent concerts. I saw him in person 3 years ago and he was fantastic! His songs brought back a lot of great memories of growing up in my hometown of Lyndhurst, New Jersey. Tommy is also a heck of a nice guy, down to earth, and extremely friendly which always makes meeting your teenage heroes a real pleasure, which is not always the case! His best selling book, "Me, The Mob and the Music," about his early days in New York City, and his record company being controlled by organized crime is a fascinating story and a great read! It is very sad how much money the mob stole from him! In fact speaking of his book when I asked him if he would be so kind as to sign a couple for me to give out as gifts to friends of mine, he was as cordial as can be, adding their names, a salutation, and mention of their birthdays and Christmas and not take a penny from me for the cost of the books! There again, many celebrities can care less about taking that extra step of kindness for a fan or a friend! Little gestures like that mean a lot to us collectors, and I have been very fortunate through out my life to befriend many celebrities of all genres who could not have been nicer to me! To all of them I say a very grateful and heartfelt thank you! |
