General Ulysses S. Grant: (1822-1885) Graduated in the West Point class of 1843. Fought with distinction in the Mexican War. Commander-in-Chief of all Union armies during the Civil War, 1863-65. He fought in the battles of Belmont, Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Iuka,...
