8 1/4 x 11, on imprinted bank letter sheet, with the letter portion written in ink.

Bank of New Orleans,
New Orleans, 28 Jany. 1862

Written to a man in Holly Springs, [Mississippi].

"I am in receipt of your [?] 24th Inst. & your requests will be duly attended to.

Respt. Yours,

Light age toning and wear.

In less than 3 months after this letter was written New Orleans would be captured! The city of New Orleans, Louisiana fell to Federal naval forces commanded by Admiral David G. Farragut on...

2 pages, 7 3/8 x 9 1/2, in ink, written by J. Henry Hammond, (12th Georgia Artillery) to Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown, with a diagram of the gun at the center of page 1.

4 pages, 5 x 7 1/4, in ink, written by Private Philip Samuel Mosby, to his sister, Polly G. Woodson. Very neat and well written Confederate letter.

For a soldier that rode with General Nathan Bedford Forrest, who donned woman's clothing to spy on the Yankees in Nashville, Tenn., and who was held in a Northern prison in irons as a hostage for a Union officer who was condemned to death for being a spy!

2 pages, 5 1/4 x 7 1/4, in ink, written by Frank Battle.
