WBTS Trivia: William Lloyd Garrison, one of America's most prominent abolitionist, published "The Liberator," a weekly newspaper, from 1831 to 1865, out of Boston, Massachusetts. While other abolitionists of favored a slow end to slavery, Garrison vowed with a very vocal voice to end slavery from his very first issue of the "The Liberator." He strenuously advocated for the immediate enfranchisement of the slave population in America which at the time was considered a radical position. |
