Assassinated in 1881 while serving as 20th President of the United States
Bronze presidential campaign token with bust view of James A. Garfield on the obverse with, "James A. Garfield," printed around the edges. The reverse has a vignette of The White House and a man on horseback pulling a canal boat by a rope with "Canal Boy 1845 and President 1881" printed below. There is a very tiny hole in the top edge of the token (which is typical to find) where it was once suspended on a chain or string. Measures 1 inch in diameter. Very fine.
