  (1935-2020) Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on November 9, 1935, he died in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 2, 2020. He played his entire MLB career for the St. Louis Cardinals from 1959 to 1975. 
  Career Stats: 251 wins, 174 losses. 3,117 strike outs. 2.91 earned run average. 255 complete games. 56 shutouts. no hitter on August 14, 1971 against the Pittsburgh Pirates, at Three Rivers Stadium, in Pittsburgh. 
  Career Highlights: Gibson was a two-time World Series Champion, in 1964 beating the New York Yankees, and in 1967 beating the Boston Red Sox, and winning the World Series MVP in both years. He was the MVP of the National League in 1968. Led the National League in strikeouts in 1968 with 268.       Was the 1968 MLB ERA Leader, 1.12. Led the National League in wins in 1970 with 23. He earned 9 Gold Glove Awards, 1965-73. 9 time National League All Star. 2 time National League Cy Young Award Winner. His uniform #45 was retired by the St. Louis Cardinals and he is also a member of the Cardinals Hall of Fame. As a hitter, he had a lifetime batting average of .206 with 24 home runs and 144 runs batted in. Gibson is considered one of the greatest pitchers in World Series baseball history. Across three World Series and nine games started, he had a record of 7–2 with a 1.89 ERA and 92 strikeouts. In 1964, he set a World Series record for most strikeouts in a seven-game World Series with 31, a record he broke in 1968 when he recorded 35, including a record 17 strikeouts in Game 1 vs the Detroit Tigers. Elected on the 1st ballot to the MLB Hall of Fame in 1981. After his playing career, Bob Gibson served stints as a coach with the New York Mets, the Atlanta Braves and the St. Louis Cardinals, all managed by his former teammate, and fellow MLB Hall of Famer, Joe Torre.

The book and dust jacket are in excellent condition with strong binding, and no rips or tears. A former owner of the book has written his name in ball point ink in blank areas at the top of a few pages. None of his signatures touch upon any of the content. A very desirable autographed book written by one of the greatest pitchers, and fiercest competitors to ever play Major League Baseball, and a member of the MLB Hall of Fame, and the prestigious All Century Team!
