He is wearing a single breasted frock coat with his arm resting on top of a studio table and holding his kepi. Company letter "A" and the regimental numerals "52" are clearly visible on top of his kepi which he tilts towards the camera. Back mark: E.C. Ely, Photographic Artist, Greenfield, Mass.
